We have all felt the affects of the pandemic; but can you imagine being a bride and groom losing the opportunity to spend one of the most important days of their lives with their family and friends? With the latest announcements opening up the Province to larger gatherings such as weddings, the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) is pleased to be able to offer those couples a chance to still have their special day.

The GRCA is hosting pop-up weddings at the Ganaraska Forest Centre (GFC) surrounded by the magnificent Ganaraska Forest. Up to 50 loved ones are invited to join soon-to-be wedded couples for a 3-hour event, beginning with a ceremony in stunning Maple Valley and followed by an indoor or outdoor reception at the GFC. Local Officiant Avril Ewing, will be conducting the wedding ceremonies, while Divine Dining will cater the receptions.

Fees for GFC pop-up weddings begin at $2,500.00. This includes an officiated ceremony, hors d’oeurvres or charcuterie boards and non-alcoholic punch for up to 50 guests, a sound system for the all-favourite first dance and party, as well as dishware and table coverings for the tables in the rustic picnic shelter or in the Great Hall. Couples are invited to decorate the spaces however they choose; a ‘leave the space as you find it’ DIY-style design. If your special day was turned upside down by the pandemic, and you’re looking for a simple yet memorable event, contact Amy Griffiths at the GRCA – agriffiths@grca.on.ca / 905.885.8173 ext 322.
