For over seven years, Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge) has generously donated funds to various initiatives through the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA). The local conservation authority is grateful for Enbridge’s continued support, with a generous $1,500.00 donation towards GRCA’s stewardship program. In 2020, these funds will purchase trees for local school plantings. The trees will not only beautify school yards, they will contribute to a more natural environment for future generations to experience and learn from.
“We are committed to environmental stewardship in the communities where we operate,” said Brian Alexander, Field Supervisor Utility Services – Cobourg and Area, Enbridge Gas Inc. “And we’re proud to support the important environmental conservation work that the GRCA is doing across this watershed.”
The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority was formed in October 1946 under the Conservation Authorities Act and is one of the oldest conservation authorities in Ontario. The watersheds of the GRCA cover an area of 935 km2 from Wilmot Creek in Clarington to east of Cobourg and from the south shore of Rice Lake down to Lake Ontario, including the 11,000 acre Ganaraska Forest.
