Looking to Plant Trees in 2010?

The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) is looking for landowners interested in planting trees in 2010. Funding in partnership with local municipalities and technical assistance is available to support landowners wishing to plant trees within the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority jurisdiction. The benefits of planting trees include the protection of soil and water, increased habitat for wildlife, increased renewable natural resource, and enhanced property values.

Tree planting services range from over the counter tree sales, in which landowners plant the trees themselves; to a full planting service on a large land base provided through the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority. In addition, schools are encouraged to consider tree planting within school yards with assistance from Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority staff.

For more information on how you can participate in the 2010 tree planting program, contact Pam Lancaster, Stewardship Technician at 905-885-8173 x 247 or plancaster@grca.on.ca.
