The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) is looking for landowners interested in participating in the Clean Water – Healthy Land Financial Assistance Program offered within the Municipality of Clarington.  This initiative is supported by the Regional Municipality of Durham and the Municipality of Clarington, and administered by the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority.  Landowners, residents, community groups, schools and businesses can apply for financial assistance to complete stewardship projects that will benefit their watershed, local environment and environmental property values and assets.

“Projects such as well upgrades and decommissioning, livestock fencing and alternate watering sources, conservation tillage equipment and tree planting are eligible projects under the Clean Water – Healthy Land Financial Assistance Program” said Pam Lancaster, Stewardship Technician, “we are also looking forward to working with community groups on environmental initiatives.”

The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority can assist applicants by providing technical advice.  Those residents who do not require financial assistance or those who are outside of the program area may still approach the GRCA for assistance on stewardship.

For more information on the Clean Water – Healthy Land Financial Assistance Program, please contact Pam Lancaster, Stewardship Technician at 905-885-8173 x 247 or plancaster@grca.on.ca
